Lion Francis Hensel is 2nd Vice District Governor and will need volunteers to ride with him on visitations.  Please contact Lion Hensel to volunteer and be placed on his schedule.   We are also having auctions on the second meeting of the month to raise funds to offset the costs for Lion Hensel carrying out his duties.

Due to work schedule conflicts caused by the Tsunami in Japan,  Lion President Tim Lewis has stepped down from the Presidency at this time.  Lion 1st Vice President Dan Harris will serve as President on his behalf.

Our Board meetings will continue to be held on the third Wednesday of the month at the Upper Sandusky Library.

October 12,2011 meeting covered the purchase of a new grinder to make the famous Horseradish for our sandwiches at the county fair.  A donation to the Upper Sandusky Police Department for Holloween candy was granted.  A request for help in purchasing new Christmas lights for the downtown area was made.  A suggestion to ask the Rotary to help cover half the cost was made.

October 19- The new storage building for the Upper Sandusky High School Swim Team will be built on Oct 22.  Lions will be contacted if needed for help with this.  Lion 1st Vice President will contact the Rotary to see if they can help with the LED lights.  A discussion was held concerning including the Lion float in the Holloween and Christmas parades.  Members enjoyed the float being included in the city's parades. The first of the Student of the Month awards was presented by Lion Kreachbaum.

Nov 9- Lion Jim Gatchell displayed old tools and then quizzed members on what they were used for.  After many laughs and explanations, Lion Gatchell indicated he hoped to have his collection displayed at the Museum.  Due to a miscommunication, the Lions Club will be covering the entire cost of the LED lights for the downtown area.  Lion Earl Sayre reminded everyone of the Christmas Dinner for the Senior Village on Dec 10th.  Also discussed was the installation of the Christmas lights at the Harrison Smith Park for the Fantasy of Lights display.  The Salvation Army bell ringing and Angel Tree collections were signed up for at this meeting.

We will meet again in December for our Christmas Party.
